GDPR privacy policy

Last updated 5 August 2022

Summary:

We respect the EU’s General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and this policy explains how we collect and treat any information you give us. You won’t find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. We’ve no desire to trick you into agreeing to something you might later regret.

Our policy covers

  • Why we value your privacy
  • How we collect information
  • What information we hold
  • Where we store your information
  • What we use your information for
  • Who’s responsible for your information at our company
  • Who has access to information about you
  • The steps we take to keep your information private
  • How to complain
  • Changes to the policy

Why we value your privacy

We value your privacy as much as we do our own, so we’re committed to keeping your personal and business information safe. We ask for only the bare minimum from our customers. We’ll never use your personal information for any reason other than why you gave it, and we’ll never give anyone access to it unless we’re forced to by law.

How we collect information

We ask for your name (or organisation's name), and email address when you create a badge to issue.

We ask you for your name and email address when you claim a badge.

We don’t use cookies or scripts which were designed to track the websites you visit. We don’t use analytics or native social media ‘like’ or ‘sharing’ buttons which also build profiles of your internet activity.

Graphs are boring, and does anyone really like anything unironically these days?

What information we store

When you issue a badge, we store your email address and organisational details. We also store any information that you include in the definition of the badge such as its criteria, and any information you provide in reply to a claim upon that badge.

When you claim a badge, we store your name, email address, and the evidence you submit towards that claim.

Refreshingly little, huh?

Where we store your information

Our data is stored in Amazon Web Services, our infrastructure provider. The data base is currently located in the US.

How we use your information

We use your information to offer and issue badges. We have nothing to sell, so will not use your information for any marketing purposes.

Who’s responsible for your information at our company

David Tomasoni-Major is responsible for the security of your information. You can contact them by email at david AT badge.supplyif you have concerns about the information we store.

Who has access to information about you

When we store information in our own systems, only the people who need it have access. That is basically me.

The steps we take to keep your information private

We encrypt data and backups of data, and to the limits of our ability, design this application in a way that limits risk. We don't walk around with copies of your data on our devices.

How to complain

We take complaints very seriously. If you’ve any reason to complain about the ways we handle your privacy, please contact David Tomasoni-Major by email at david @ badge.supply.

Changes to the policy

If we change the contents of this policy, those changes will become effective the moment we publish them on our website. We'll try to be honest and transparent about those changes, so you can see what has changed.
